Models

The winter before WerkHaus was built, I used AutoCAD computer software to design the structure and create realistic models. The models helped me to examine potential design flaws and evaluate the heat and airflow systems. Additionally, I used CAD to generate a specific list of material quantities and sizes. This "cut list" sped the actual construction process and drastically reduced material waste. Material efficiency saved my brother money and is a critical environmental practice. Philip also used the material list to organize his limited finances in advance. The thoughtful planning allowed us to construct WerkHaus during Philip's three-month summer vacation.
