The site for WerkHaus is atop a hill in Hope, Maine. It sits next to Philip's contemporarily-remodeled home is and surrounded by blueberry fields and forests. Since Hope is a rural town, the aesthetic goal of WerkHaus was to create a garage/shop that alludes to the traditional, rustic Maine barn vernacular, but is delivered with a contemporary edge.
