Greenovision consults on cabin repainting project

In Spring 2016 we worked on a repainting/metal fascia consultation for a summer cabin. This is the same cabin (not a Greenovision design) that we provided consultation for in 2015 for a leaky roof and metal roofing project (more on that consultation and successful problem solving here). This time around the owners were further maintaining their cabin by protecting the wood fascia boards with metal fascia and by repainting for the first time in over 20 years. A local painting company and builder were hired to do this labor, but Greenovision was brought in to help choose new paint and metal fascia colors.

We created a number of different Photoshop computer renderings to mock up a cohesive paint scheme. First, we had to choose a metal fascia color that would look well with the sage green metal roofing (the fascia was only available in select colors). Then we had to choose siding and trim colors that would compliment the fascia and roof.

This cabin desperately needed to be repainted to increase the longevity of the exterior materials. The original paint color was a sandy color that had faded so much it appeared to be gray.

After Painting!

Creating Photoshop renderings of various paint schemes is a tricky art, but provides valuable information and helped us to choose the final scheme. The painting crew and metal fascia installer both did excellent work. We agree with the owners that the new colors are beautiful!
